Terms of Service
Last updated June 22, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using the hosted Coval dashboard and API (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms cover the hosted Service only. The local Coval tools (CLI, MCP server, and VS Code extension) are free, account-less, and governed by their own open license.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and your API tokens, and for all activity that occurs under them. Raw API tokens are shown once at creation and never recoverable — store them securely and revoke any token you believe is compromised. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the reports and project data you push to the Service. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, process, and display that data back to you in order to operate the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to push the data you submit, and for confirming it contains no material you are not permitted to share. By design, pushed reports do not include your raw source code or secret values — see What's in a report.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access data belonging to other users or bypass the Service's access controls.
- Abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service, including via excessive or automated requests beyond reasonable use.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or rebrand the hosted Service without our permission.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
5. Plans and billing
The Service offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Plan limits — such as project counts and history retention — are enforced server-side and may change. Paid plans are billed through our billing provider; see our pricing page for current terms. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
6. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Coval's analysis is heuristic and may produce false positives or miss issues; it is informational and not a substitute for your own judgment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. On termination, your stored data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
